Kemsley Law Firm, P.L.L.C. was founded in September 2008 by Rod S. Kemsley for purpose of assisting individuals and small businesses who needed help to save their home, their vehicles and their peace of mind due to various debt problems.

Rod graduated law school in the year 2000 and has practiced both consumer and small business bankruptcy for the past 14 years. He has represented thousands of clients in Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy. In addition, he helps clients to negotiate with their creditors outside of bankruptcy. Rod also assists individuals to protect their wishes as well as their family’s rights in case of serious illness or death by preparing these documents for clients: Last Will and Testament, Statutory Power of Attorney, Medical Power of Attorney and the Directive to Physicians and Family or Surrogates.

Rod’s philosophy is that people and debts are separate and that people should be treated with courtesy and respect. Bad debt does not equal bad people. The vast majority of the firm’s clients have had some major financial catastrophe such as divorce, illness or death in the family, job loss or, in the case of small businesses, loss of a major client. Read our bankruptcy testimonials from past clients here.

Rod also believes that major financial crises do not equate to the end of someone’s life or a complete lack of hope for the future. With that in mind, they and their staff do an extraordinary job of removing the stigma, fear, and pain that people in financial straits experience.

Many of the people who consult with Rod learn that they do not need to file bankruptcy because of alternative solutions. 98 percent of consulting clients find some hope for their debt situation.
